Marino Bacon Wrapped Cabbage

1 Head of Cabbage

8 Slices of Bacon

Salt

Pepper

8 pads of butter

Aluminum Foil

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees or heat grill on medium high

Cut off the steam of the cabbage and 1/8 the head of cabbage. Take each wedge and rinse it under a running faucet. Be careful the wedges tend to fall apart so try not to handle to much but you do want to rinse them. Place rinsed wedges on paper towels to drain.

Rip off 8 pieces of foil big enough to make a pouch

Take one piece of foil and lay a slice of bacon in the middle. Place a cabbage wedge in the middle of the bacon slice and wrap the ends around the cabbage slice. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and place a pad of butter on the cabbage wedge. Take the two longer sides of the foil and pinch together. Roll it down to just above the cabbage wedge. Take the two shorter sides and scrunch them up to the middle to seal off the sides of your packet. You want to leave a little room for steam to move around. don’t seal the packets too tight. Repeat this for all 8 wedges.

If cooking in the oven, place on a cookie sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes. The cabbage should be tender. If grilling place packets directly on the grill and cook for 45-50 minutes. Try not to open and close the grill to often as this will decrease your grill temperature and increase your cooking time.

I’m trying this tonight! Looks so good and it was so easy to prep! I’m so glad I found your blog. I just adopted the paleo lifestyle a month ago and my anxiety, depression, colds, and more are almost (if not already) gone! I hope to be starting a family soon so it’s great to see ow you are with Lucy! Thanks!
